Floors that inspire, since 2010

A Vernon-based crew that treats every slab like it’s going in our own garage.

Who we are

Inspired to create beautiful floors

LB Epoxy Flooring has been coating Okanagan floors since 2010. Founded and led by Lyndon Brock, we’re a Vernon-based team specializing in durable, beautiful floor coatings that are as hard-working as they are good-looking.

We’re the preferred epoxy installer for many custom-home builders across the Okanagan and Shuswap — and we’ve earned that by delivering exactly what we promise, on time, with an amazing team that can handle any size job. We install throughout the Okanagan, Shuswap and Kamloops, and travel anywhere in BC for larger commercial projects.

A floor coating that’s highly functional, genuinely beautiful, and adds value to your home or business — that’s the demand we set out to meet, one floor at a time.

Why coat your floor

More than a good-looking floor

  • Adds real value to your home or business
  • Protects concrete from salt and contaminants
  • Wipes clean and stays low-maintenance
  • Seals the cracks and saw-cuts where moisture and insects collect
  • Finishes the last unfinished space in your home
  • One of the most durable finishes you can install

How we work

Prep is everything

Most epoxy floors fail because of lazy prep. We’ve never had one fail since 2010 — because we grind into the slab before a drop of coating goes down.

  1. 01

    Shotblasting

A ride-on shot blaster fires tiny steel beads into the concrete, etching a profile so the coating doesn’t just bond — it absorbs into the slab. Connected to specialty vacuums that pull roughly 95% of the dust out of the air.

  2. 02

    Edge grind & crack fill

We grind every edge the ride-on can’t reach, then fill cracks and saw-cuts with a two-part filler that’s ground flush so they disappear. Inferior prep is why most epoxy fails — this is where we don’t cut corners.

  3. 03

    Base coat & flake broadcast

A solid-colour epoxy base goes down, then hundreds of pounds of decorative flake are broadcast into it so it fills in evenly and locks in tight.

  4. 04

    Clear top coats

Premium flake floors get two coats on top — an epoxy build coat and a polyurethane clear — for a semi-smooth, deeply durable, beautiful finish that’s built to last for years.

A warranty we can stand behind

Every floor carries a 3-year adhesion warranty covering lifting or peeling for any reason other than physical damage or chemical spills. It’s easy to stand behind because of how we prep — in 15+ years since 2010, we’ve yet to have a single failed floor.

Frequently asked

Why should I coat my floor?
A coated floor adds value, protects the concrete from salt and contaminants, wipes clean, and seals the cracks and saw-cuts where moisture and insects collect. It’s one of the most durable finishes you can install — and it finishes the last raw space in most homes. On a suspended slab, we can add a waterproofing membrane under the system to help protect against garage-floor leaks.
Can my garage be coated in the winter?
Yes. We end the floor about an inch inside the garage door so weather isn’t an issue, and we supply heaters to help the epoxy cure even if your garage isn’t heated.
Where do I put everything in my garage during the install?
Most clients temporarily rent a storage container dropped in the driveway for the few days of the install — we recommend Big Steel Box. It keeps everything safe and close by.
Is an epoxy floor slippery?
Like any floor it can be slick when wet, and it gets more traction-friendly with use. If slip is a concern we can add a silica traction additive to the final coat (note that it slightly changes the look).
What finishes can I choose from?
Three: solid-colour epoxy (durable, great for commercial), flake (our most popular — thick clear coats, hides scratches, renewable), and metallic (a high-end, liquid-stone look). Flake is the best value and our usual recommendation for garages.
Is the floor guaranteed?
We offer a 3-year adhesion warranty covering the floor lifting or peeling for any reason other than physical damage (like dropping heavy items) or chemical spills. The coating resists most chemicals, but wipe spills up promptly and avoid tire-shine products like Armor All, which can react with the epoxy. We coat to the garage door line by choice — extending onto the driveway voids the warranty there, since the elements can discolour the finish and shorten its life. The warranty doesn’t cover cracks from the concrete shifting underneath (that’s the slab, not the coating) or yellowing from sun exposure, which keeping the doors closed makes less likely. In 15+ years since 2010, we’ve yet to have a failed floor.
How long before I can walk on or drive on the floor?
It depends on the build. A premium flake floor needs 2 days before you walk on it, 3 days before moving your things back in, and 5 days before driving or parking on it. A basic flake floor or a solid-colour epoxy floor is back in full use within 48 hours.
How do I clean and maintain my floor?
The easiest way is hot water with a mop and squeegee. Skip soap — it leaves a residue — and harsh chemicals that can damage the finish. For a stubborn or heavily soiled spot, use a mild natural cleaner or diluted ammonia.
Do your prices ever change?
The rates we publish are a starting point — final pricing can vary with the square footage of the job and how far we travel, and is subject to change. You’ll get an accurate number from a free on-site measure.
